XGPON could also be called 10G GPON. The bandwidth of XGPON is asymmetric between uplink and downlink, with 2.5Gbps for uplink and 10Gbps for downlink, the spectral ratio is 1:128. With the same spectral ratio, the maximum transmission distance of XGPON can reach 40KM. XGPON wavelength planning and GPON wavelength planning do not overlap, so GPON and XGPON could share ODN networks through wavelength division multiplexing; At present, the mainstream PON technologies used in FTTH (fiber to the home) are EPON technology and GPON technology. XGPON technology is mainly used in FTTB (fiber to the corridor) scenarios due to high cost of XGPON ONU. AscentOptics can provide XGPON OLT SFP+ transceivers for XGPON OLT equipments (N1 and N2a by ODN Class) and XGPON&GPON Combo OLT SFP+ modules for mixed access to GPON and XG PON ONUs (B+/N1, C+/N2a, B+/D1, C+/D2 by ODN Class). We can also provide XGPON ONU SFP+ transceivers for XGPON ONU devices.
