100G QSFP28 breakout AOC (active optical cable) is designed for the interconnection between 100G Ethernet (100GbE) and 4x 25G Ethernet (25GbE) or 100G Ethernet (100GbE) and 2x 50G Ethernet (50GbE) applications. The QSFP28 to 4x SFP28 AOC cable is also known as 100G QSFP28 hybrid optical cable, 100G QSFP28 splitter AOC or 100G QSFP28 Fan-out AOC. The 100G QSFP28 breakout AOC offers four parallel, bi-directional channels each operating at up to 25 Gbps. Using industry-leading COB technology and high performance optical engine of VCSEL laser and OM3 multi-mode fiber, this AOC breakout cables provide a highly cost-effective and low-power consumption connectivity for the high-performance computing (HPC), data center and storage networks applications. Compared with 100G DAC copper cables, the 100G AOC breakout cables have lower weight and smaller bend radius, which is better solutions for high-density deployments of interconnection within racks and across adjacent racks.
