40G QSFP+ AOC-kabels (Active Optical Cable) voldoen aan 40G QSFP+ MSA, ze zijn ontworpen om 40G Ethernet en InfiniBand SDR/DDR/QDR te ondersteunen. De 40G QSFP+ AOC integreerde 4x10Gb/s data in één enkele OM3/OM4-kabel met een slim optisch ontwerp. Vergeleken met de verbinding tussen 2 QSFP+ transceivers en MPO/MPT-kabels. De 40G QSFP+ AOC maakt gebruik van COB-technologie en is geassembleerd met een 40G optische engine voor lagere kosten en stroomverbruik. Het is een ideale optische verbindingsoplossing voor grote datacenters, cloud computing en andere toepassingen die grote hoeveelheden snelle gegevensoverdracht vereisen.
AscentOptics zou hoogwaardige 40G QSFP+ AOC kunnen bieden in lengtes variërend van 1 meter tot 100 meter.
